Fairies
Tea Party at Faerie Court
Fairies began appearing off the ends of my knitting needles one day. The first one surprised me with her very detailed preference of hair (color, length, style!), clothing, wings and embellishments! After this, it seemed natural that they would create and design themselves through me, each with their own distinct personalities. I joyfully do my p(Art). No details are preplanned ... each facet unfolds about 5 minutes before I do it! In this way, the fairies are uniquely, one of a kind, self-expressions.
All of the fairies originate with the same basic body which is the blank canvas upon which we then add the clothing, wings, jewellery, hair and some choose other special elements to add on... some have hidden keys to portals in Fairyland, others carry magic Fairy sparkles, some play with yoyos and others carry special totems they have gathered in their travels through the realms. They all have bendable arms and legs.
Inspiration comes from the faerie realm and from nature. The fairies take me on walks in the woods where we gather twigs, pine cones, bits of moss, dried berries, leaves, acorns and other treasures that they choose to add to their creation couture. The clothing, hair and wings incorporate all types of fabric, knitted & crocheted wool and yarn, felted pieces, ribbons, lace, beads, feathers, flowers, crystals & gemstones, sparkles, and gathered bits from nature.
Come and meet the fairies...
